The Best of Friends

Aren't girlfriends just the best? Growing up, until I was about 8, it was me, Megan and Hayley. We did almost everything together. Then Hayley had to ruin it by moving. She didn't move too far but for an 8 year old, it was across the world. We would still have slumber parties and get together but not nearly as often as we should. We grew up, got married and grew apart. Megan and I are still close, we work together. Hayley live in Ohio where her husband goes to school. We've been able to keep up on each other through our blogs and Facebook. I was SO excited when I got an email from Hayley asking for the three of us to get together. Heck yeah. Too bad it was Thursday and she was heading back home on Saturday. Luckily it worked out that we could all go to lunch together, even though we only had 45 minutes. It was so much fun to hang out. It's like we'd never been apart.

Better Late Than Never

I LOVE The Pioneer Woman. Seriously. Love her. I can't even tell you how excited I was that she published a cookbook. I can't even tell you how even more excited I was to find out that she was coming to Tempe to sign books. I had to go, right? I did go. And I got there 2 hours early. I was 4th in line to get seats, which meant front row center stage. She did a Q & A for about a half hour then it was time to sign some books. And sign she did. She started about 7:30. We didn't get our books signed until almost 10! Totally worth it, though, if you ask me.

These next for pictures were taken off her website. I was so excited to see myself on The Pioneer Woman. Can't even begin to tell you.

Updating the Blog

In the last couple of months, a lot of blog I read/used to read went private. I'm trying to update my blog and get back into the swing of things. If you read my blog and don't see your blog on my list, private or public, leave me a comment and let me know. I read a lot of blogs through my reader so I don't have them all listed on here. I want to get that fixed.

Disneyland!

8 1/2 years ago, before Dan and I met, Shiloh and I took a trip. We went to California for a week. We went to Universal Studios, did the Hollywood thing and spent 3 days at Disneyland. We planned on making frequent trips to Disneyland in the years that followed. I had gone to Disneyland a few times growing up. It wasn't until 2001 that I became obsessed. I went on this trip with Shiloh in March. I went again with Wayne and Melanie in July. When Dan and I started dating, I told him how much I loved Disneyland. He hadn't been there in years. I decided to take him for his birthday. That's where he proposed to me. We went again for our honeymoon. I can't count the trips we've made since then. It wasn't until last weekend that Shiloh and I were able to go back, just the 2 of us. Don't get me wrong, I love going with Dan but there's nothing like a trip with the girls.

We stayed at the Disneyland hotel.

When we checked in, I gave them my debit card to hold for incidentals. Instead of holding the $50 like they normally do, they decided to charge me the full price of the room for 2 nights. I don't have that kind of money and it make my checking account go negative. We got it all straightened out the next afternoon but I made a fuss about it and got free room service for breakfast.

It's Halloweentime at the Disneyland Resort. They decorate both parks SO cute. They turn the Haunted Mansion into The Nightmare Before Christmas. This year the also changed Space Mountain into Ghost Galaxy and they have a new Halloween fireworks show called Halloween Scream. If you can get there to see it before the end of October, do! It's SO cute and the fireworks are amazing.
